Easy loc bun hairstyles (Part 1)

Hi everyone! Doing a loc bun is one of the easiest ways to style locks, to style hair in general in fact. They can range from casual to elegant, depending on how you style them. Here are 7 styles incorporating loc buns.

1. Three curly vertical buns

This is a fun casual hairstyle that is great for short hair as well, since there would be less strain in pulling your locs into more than one ponytail. Not to mention, it is pretty simple to achieve. Just section your hair into three, wrap the hair of each section around the hair tie, and use another hair tie to secure it; thus creating a loc bun for each section.

2. Curly low bun

If you read my post ‘Simple loc updo for dummies‘, you would be familiar with this style. I had to throw this in here since this is one of my favourite loc buns. It’s a cute everyday look that can also be worn to work, or to a more formal affair.

3. Two horizontal messy buns

This is pretty simple style, just make sure to use a mirror on the back of your head to ensure that your hair is divided equally.

4. Two horizontal buns at front

This is another favourite of mine (See Easy hairstyles for all locks.) The hair in each bun was wrapped upwards, starting at the base of the ponytail, in order to create a more twirled look.

5. 3 horizontal buns at front

Start with the middle bun first so that you can adjust until it is in the center.

6. Folded bun at front

This is a different type of bun which involves putting your locks in a ponytail but not pulling the hair all the way through. Next, you pull both sides of the fold down in order to create a fan-like look. Finally, use pins at the back of the fold to keep the stray locks in place.

7. Two curly vertical buns at front

The key to this look is to divide your hair into 3 sections first then only turn 2 of them into buns. This will create a more even distribution. If you have less hair or a smaller head, it might be better to divide your hair into 2, and then halve the top section to create your loc buns.
